To ensure consumer protection in Tanzania and to guarantee the entry of safe and high-quality products into the Tanzanian market, the Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) has established the Pre-Shipment Verification of Conformity (PVoC) Program.
The PVoC Program mandates that regulated product imports undergo compliance verification in the country of export before entering the Tanzanian market. As a conformity assessment body authorized by the Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS), TÜV Rheinland issues a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) when products are confirmed to be compliant. This certificate facilitates a smooth customs clearance process for shipments at Tanzanian customs.
