DoC Management for Food Contact Materials
Ensure Safety and Transparency Throughout Your Entire Supply Chain
For certain materials that come into contact with food, a Declaration of Compliance (DoC) is legally required – for example, under Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011 for plastics. With the DoC, you confirm that your product meets all relevant legal requirements and provide documented evidence of compliance across your supply chain. The goal of the DoC is to demonstrate regulatory and food safety compliance to downstream users and to ensure the manufacture of safe and legally compliant Food Contact Materials (FCMs).
In order to issue a fully compliant DoC, several elements must be considered: Are all raw materials approved for the intended use? Are all limits (sensory testing, specific migration, overall migration) met? Are data on Non-Intentionally Added Substances (NIAS) available, and have these been properly assessed for risk?
