PUWER compliance − A demanding task
The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) is the UK regulation that specifies that the work equipment is suitable for the task it is intended to perform and that it does not present a hazard to the people using it. This covers all machinery, equipment, tools or production plants, that are used at work. That makes PUWER an important instrument for occupational health and safety. The legislation sets requirements for a safe work environment and is therefore relevant for every manufacturer or retailer beyond the logistics industry.

Achieving compliance with PUWER requires understanding and implementing a range of regulatory requirements, which can be intricate and time-consuming to navigate. Logistic companies often operate across multiple locations, each with its own set of requirements. Coordinating compliance efforts and ensuring consistency across different sites can be demanding. Additionally, assessing modern, connected machinery and production lines requires specialized knowledge and expertise that your organization might not have in-house.
TÜV Rheinland is your one-stop solution for all your regulatory needs. We understand the unique demands of the logistics and retail sectors, and we're here to help you transform regulatory compliance from a daunting task into a strategic advantage.

Compliance with PUWER is of paramount importance for logistic companies. By adhering to the requirements of the regulation, you prioritize the safety and well-being of your employees. This fosters a positive work environment and minimizes the risk of workplace accidents. As a logistics company, you also have a legal responsibility to provide a safe working environment for your employees. Complying with PUWER helps you meet these obligations and avoid potential legal consequences.

Furthermore, demonstrating compliance with workplace safety standards enhances your reputation as a responsible and trustworthy organization. This can attract potential clients, partners, and stakeholders who prioritize safety and compliance.
