ISO 14001, the globally recognized standard for environmental management systems, is about to be revised. To help you prepare for the upcoming changes, TÜV Rheinland has created an exclusive synopsis. This document provides a detailed comparison of the current version of ISO 14001:2015 and the planned changes. This allows you to see exactly which parts of the standard are to be revised, deleted or newly added.
Why is the synopsis important for you?
Following the 2021 user survey, it was decided not to completely revise ISO 14001, but to make minor adjustments as part of an amendment. However, everything now points to a consolidated revision of the standard – with moderate but important changes. The Final Draft International Standard (FDIS) was published in January 2026, and the final standard is scheduled for publication in March/April 2026.
In our synopsis, you will learn:
- What changes are planned for ISO 14001,
- What impact the changes will have on companies,
- And how you can best prepare for the revision.
