PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances)

Jennifer Barbarisi has been part of TÜV Rheinland’s North America Retail team since 2018. In her current role, Jennifer provides technical consultation to brands and retailers to help them with compliance to national and international regulations covering a wide range of consumer products under the retail umbrella. As the North America Regulatory & Compliance Manager, Jennifer monitors US Federal & State Regulations to provide customers with compliance consultation and practical application of various existing, new and upcoming regulations, standards and bans.  

James leads Marten Law’s regulatory practice where he counsels consumer product manufacturers in the apparel, footwear, cookware, outdoor gear, and packaging industries who are working to understand the complicated and shifting regulatory and litigation environments they face. James’s focus includes chemicals management, compliance, and enforcement including emerging contaminants like PFAS; compliance with product stewardship and end-of-life regulations like extended producer responsibility (EPR) laws; regulatory compliance for consumer products; greenwashing, brand and advertising issues; manufacturing, distribution and supply agreements for consumer markets companies; regulatory enforcement and investigations; product safety, incident evaluation, and consumer product recalls; as well as state and federal Superfund and other environmental laws.
